In this video, we team up with volcanologists Dr Emma Lui and Dr Tom Pering, to look at how different types of tectonic activity affect the chemistry and the character of volcanoes. Using real lava and exciting laboratory demonstrations, we explore:

  • • Why some volcanoes are more explosive than others
  • • Different styles of eruption
  • • Different types of volcano
